I have always owned a Fobus holster that I used when I needed a concealment holster. In my Fobus holster reviews, I always gave them good reviews other than I didn't think they looked professional. As a result of my new assignment and needing a good looking concealment holster, I went down to pne of my local police equipment stores, Emergency Equipment Engineering (EEE), to look for a new concealment holster.

I started looking at the Aker holsters and thought they were a great looking holster. After some time, I decided on the Aker Flatsider XR13. The Aker Flatsider XR13 is unique because it is flat on one side, allowing for a more comfortable fit. In addition to that, the holster is made with the finest leather that conforms to your pistol. On both sides of the holster are curved belts slots that cooperate to provide stability on the belt with unparalleled concealment. Inside the holster is a full length molded sight channel. With the design of the special dual-plane muzzle, the Aker Flatsider XR 13 can accommodate both standard and short barrels.

To start off with, I love this holster. I use this hostler for my Glock 27 pistol. My biggest fear was having to wear an uncomfortable concealment holster. The Aker Flatsider XR13 is far from that. I forget sometimes that it is on my waist; it is so comfortable. The leather was tough at the beginning, but what do you expect for a gun holster. It's been about 6 weeks and the holster has really started to soften up and mold to my Glock pistol. I have worn this holster with a suit, 5.11 Tactical pants, and jeans. No matter what I wear it with, the Aker Flatsider XR 13 looks great!

Another variation of the Flatsider XR 12 is the Flatsider Paddle XR 17. This holster has all the benefits and features of the Flatsider XR 13 and the Flatside XR 12, but it also features the paddle back for easy removal from the waistband. The dual retention barbs keep the holster securely in place while still providing the flexibility of being able to remove the holster without having to take off your belt. A Flatsider XR 19 model is also available and the only difference with this model is that it uses a strapless design.

One last Aker International Falsider design to consider is the Flatsider Patriot XR 20. This design features two belt loops that wrap around the belt and secure with one sold metal snap. This is an excellent addition to your police equipment as it can be used anytime, off duty or on duty. You will never have to remove your belt and to put it on or take it off. It employs the same security and functional features of all the other XR family of concealment holsters. Each of the Flatsider XR concealment holsters are designed to fit most popular semi automatics.
