Kustom Signals Pro Lite lidar Kustom Signals is the leading manufacture of radars and lidars. They are constantly developing new technology to make their radars and lidars even better. One of the newest lidars on the market is the Kustom Signal Pro Lite+. The Kustom Signals Pro Lite+ lidar is the smallest and lightest lidar that has ever been manufactured. A lidar is a laser device that is able to determine the speed of moving vehicles. The Pro Lite+ lidar has several features that differs itself from Kustom Signals Pro Laser III lidar. The Pro Lite+ is designed similar in shape to binoculars and uses a "point and shoot" theory. The unit has a display screen that is designed to provide 1:1 viewing which reduces the strain on your eyes. The Pro Lite+ is accurate up to about 2,000 feet. When the Kustom Signals Pro Lite+ lidar was introduced, I was able to order two of them with funds from a grant that I obtained. I was excited that I would have the opportunity to use a lidar that was smaller in size than the one I had been using, the Kustom Signals Pro Laser III. As soon as I took delivery of the Pro Lite+ lidars, I took one of them out to my favorite speed enforcement streets. Normally I am able to easily lock vehicles in at about 1,000 feet due to the terrain of the street. With the Pro Lite+, I was having problems locking in cars until they were about 500 feet from me. While the Pro Lite+ is small in size, I found it awkward to use. Between the problems that I had locking cars in and the awkwardness of the Pro Lite+, I immediately returned both of them and purchased one Kustom Signal Pro Laser III. Overall, I did not like the Kustom Pro Lite+ lidar. I would recommend to any agency that is looking to purchase one to see if the local Kustom Signals representative has one for you to try before you purchase it.
