Glock 30

One of Glock's most popular handgun is the Glock 30 SF. The Glock 30 SF handgun is subcompact .45 auto handgun. In this police handgun review, we will discuss the Glock 30 handgun. This police handgun is definitely worth shooting.

The Glock 30 SF handgun is the subcompact version of the Glock 21 handgun. The SF stands for "short frame". The Glock 30 has the same polymer frame as the Glock 21 and features a 10 round magazine. While the magazine does hold 10 rounds, I found it difficult to load the tenth round.

Technical specifications for the Glock 30 handgun include:

  • Caliber: .45 Auto
  • 6.77 inches long
  • 4.76 inches tall
  • 1.27 inches wide
  • 23.99 ounces unloaded (680 g)
  • 33.86 ounces loaded (960)
  • Standard magazine capacity: 10
  • Optional magazine capacity: 9/13
  • 5.5 lbs of trigger pull

In addition, the Glock 30 .45 auto has the octagonal barrel rifling and, of course, uses the Safe Action system to prevent accidental discharge of the firearm. The factory magazine for the Glock 21 will also fit the Glock 30, providing the option for an additional 13 rounds. The Glock 30 magazine is slightly longer in the grip than that of the Glock 29, allowing for a three finger hold below the trigger guard as opposed to the Glock 29 where you can only fit two fingers and have to put the third underneath.

The Glock 30 is slightly larger than the smallest Glocks and may not be comfortable to carry in an ankle holster, but still fits nicely in a shoulder rig, pancake holster, or even an inside the waistband holsters. The Glock 30 doesn't work well for pocket carry unless you have some pretty big pockets, but overall they are still a very viable option for concealed carry. There are many accessories for the Glock 30 including: sights, slide releases, grip plugs, chrome pin kits, and many others. Each of the Glock 30 accessories will let you customize your police equipment or civilian Glock 30 to the specifications you require.

The Glock 30 is a good weapon of choice for on and off duty officers, military personnel, and civilians looking for a powerful gun that can easily be carried as a concealed weapon. The fact that it is a Glock gives the owner assurance that it will be dependable and durable. As with any police equipment or gun choices, try it before you buy it. Make sure you like the feel of it in your hands and the way it feels when you shoot it. If you like the feel, you will love your Glock 30. As the most highly recommended pistol on the market, you can't go wrong with a Glock. The Glock guns are very reasonably priced and offer a lot of options for customization.

I recently had the opportunity to fire the Glock 30 handgun and loved it. The gun was very precise and accurate. With its smooth design and simple operation like the rest of the Glock handguns, quick drawing of this police handgun was no problem. I fired about 200 rounds with the Glock 30 and did not have any malfunctions. One thing that I was concerned about prior to firing the Glock 30 was that it was too small of a handgun for that caliber. After I started to shoot it, I soon found that was not an issue. The size and weight of the Glock 30 was perfect. In fact the only problem I had was that I have larger hands and require a magazine extender on all of my Glock handguns.

Just like all the other Glock handguns, the Glock 30 was very easy to breakdown and clean. I also know of several high quality Gould & Goodrich holsters that this handgun fits in, making it very easy to carry.  Overall this is a great back up handgun or off duty handgun and I highly recommend the Glock 30 SF handgun.
