DeSantis Die Hard ankle holster In this article, I will be doing an ankle holster review on my current ankle holster. DeSantis has been making ankle holsters since the 1970's. They are the leading choice of holsters for the FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Security, and many police officers. I have been wearing this DeSantis ankle holster for about 3 years. I love it. Unlike my previous ankle holsters, this keeps my Glock 27 secured. I have been in numerous foot pursuits and have never had a problem. The padding makes it very comfortable and at times I don't even realize that I have it on my ankle. The only issue that I have had with it is that the neoprene leg band is starting to show some wear and tear. I guess that can be expected since I take it on and off regularly. I am going to contact DeSantis and see if they are willing to fix it or replace it. After I do, I will update this review. Even with this issue, I would still highly recommend the DeSantis Die Hard ankle holster. For those that are looking for a little more information we will take a look at the details of the DeSantis Die Hard ankle holster. This is one of the best ankle holsters we have found on the market, it is made with top grain saddle leather and has an extremely tough exterior covered with a polyurethane coating. When it comes to police equipment there are many companies and researchers that are constantly working to find the best materials and best equipment for durability, strength, longevity, and comfort. All police equipment goes through a lot of wear and tear as it is used on a daily basis for hours at a time, in all sorts of conditions. When it comes to ankle holsters there are many other considerations as well. Because the officer wearing the ankle holster will liking be doing quite a bit of walking and may even be running quite a bit, especially if he is involved in a foot chase. In such circumstances the ankle holster must be secure and as comfortable as possible. While working on the DeSantis ankle holsters design, the DeSantis team has taken each of these elements into consideration. The final design features a smooth leather lining that not only protects the gun from unnecessary wear, but also make sure that the officer drawing the weapon will be able to draw it smoothly and quickly. The DeSantis Die Hard ankle holster features the traditional thumb break so that the gun is always secure and the drawing method is the same as with the other DeSantis holsters. The thumb break is attached to a neoprene leg band that is padded with foam and then lined with sheepskin to keep the holster from chaffing the leg and to provide the most comfort possible. Additional options for the DeSantis Die Hard ankle holster include a calf strap and boot extender. For the officers that will be using the DeSantis Die Hard ankle holster while wearing tactical boots or for the officer that just wants better control over the positing and fit of the ankle holster, these options are a great addition. If you will be doing a lot of walking while wearing an ankle holster, the calf strap is highly recommended in many ankle holster reviews. The calf strap adds a lot of stability to the positioning of the gun and keeps it from sliding around a lot. There are many pros and cons to using an ankle holster, while it is not generally the top concealment choice; it is sometimes the best choice for the situation or a good choice for a backup. A lot of forums give great pointers and tips in regards to choosing the right ankle holster for a specific gun type. You will also find some great tips on positioning to make the holster more comfortable and secure and to make the drawing of your weapon easier. Granted it is going to take some practice. The last thing you want is to be in conflict and have problems getting to your rig. You donft want to have to look down, kneel down, or take a lot of time. Practicing to make sure that you can draw the weapon quickly and smoothly from a number of positions will help you find the right fit for your ankle holster.
