I have had the Streamlight UltraStinger for 5 years. I currently own two of them because I like it so much. The flashlight has a five cell 6V nickel-cadmium battery. It is 11.75" in length and weighs a mere 1.1 pounds. The UltraStinger is my favorite police flashlight that I have owned. I like the size of the flashlight, especially the skinniness of it (body diameter is only 1.08 inches with the largest point of the light being only 2.37 inches). The flashlight can easily be stored underneath my leg while I am driving. The brightness of the light is nice. Whenever I turn the light on, I know that I am going to light the entire area up.

As much as I love the Streamlight UltraStinger, I have two things that I dislike about it. Because of the size of the flashlight, the battery goes dead after one hour of continuous use. I typically can use it for one hour per shift and then it needs to be recharged. That is the reason why I always carry two of them. I keep one of them on my duty belt and one in my 5.11 Tactical Patrol Ready gear bag. As a result of the battery dying often, I carry a fast charger in the car with me at all times. The charger plugs into my power adapter outlet and allows me to charge the flashlight during my shift if it goes dead prior to the end of my shift. The other thing I dislike about the flashlight is that the bulb needs to be replaced every 6 months or so. This is really only an inconvenience. The bulb only costs about $5.00.

As like all other Streamlight flashlights, the UltraStinger has a great warranty. Recently my lens cracked and I took it to my local retailer and they fixed it on the spot for no charge. This flashlight is extremely durable and has a polycarbonate lens that has a scratch resistant coating to protect the lens as much as possible. Optional accessories for the Streamlight UltraStinger flashlight include a safety wand, ring holder, 5-unit back charger, 2.5 hour fast charger, and the 120 volt fast charge cord. Each of these additional accessories provides the user with more options and convenience when using the Streamlight UltraStinger flashlight for on or off duty work. This police flashlight is rated to be impact and water resistant.

The Streamlight UltraStinger is a great flashlight. I will continue to use this flashlight and highly recommend it. In other police equipment reviews and Streamlight UltraStinger flashlight reviews all brag about the brightness of the UltraStinger flashlight and how lightweight it is for the size. The only real complaints are similar to those that I have, it takes quite a long time to charge the flashlight and only provides about an hour of continuous light. Others say that it is expensive, but that is all relative to the quality that you will get. It is true that you get what you pay for and the UltraStinger flashlight is definitely one of the best flashlights out there. Out of the 67 current reviews on Amazon for the UltraStinger flashlight, 51 of the reviews give it a 5 star rating, the highest rating possible, and 10 others give it 4 stars. Only 6 of the total reviews were less than 4 stars and these were mostly just problems with receiving the item or some other logistic problem.

Overall the Streamlight UltraStinger flashlight get excellent reviews and I would highly recommend it for your police equipment, sporting goods, fire and rescue, hardware/tool, automotive, industrial, or consumer use.
